Born in Ohio, Dr. Moffett spent most of her childhood in the Lexington, Virginia area.  She received all of her degrees from Columbia University in New York.  Her history of Radford's first twenty years was published in 1932 and remains one of the only sources in existence today detailing Radford's beginnings.  At Radford, she was much more than teacher and dean -- she served the institution longer than any other individual to date.
