DADS: DOCUMENT DELIVERY SERVICE
McConnell Library will supply electronic copies of articles from our journal
collection through ILLiad, our interlibrary loan system. With this service,
you can request any article you need through the interlibrary loan service without
worrying about whether it is owned by RU or not. You can search our current
electronic reference databases, order any items you want using the ILLiad
"Request a Photocopy" forms and leave the rest to us. Your requests will be
analyzed and processed according to their location and type by
interlibrary loan staff. Regular interlibrary loan requests will be ordered and
delivered to you via your selected method of delivery. Those items owned by RU
will be processed and the items will be electronically delivered to your account,
at which time you will receive an email alerting you to this fact.
Benefits of the system:
- Free "copies" of articles from the RU collection
- "one stop shopping" in terms of researching, ordering and receiving articles
- all you need to view the documents is the adobe acrobat reader
- articles can be read and deleted, printed, or saved to a disc
Due to copyright issues, these articles will only be kept in our system for 30 days.
It is advisable to copy your articles to a disc or to print them when they are received because
once they are deleted from our hard drives, you will have to resubmit your requests to receive
them again (actually this is easily done using your ILLiad account!)
